Juliette got her first taste of real food tonight! Bananas! The jury is still out on if she liked them or not. The mushed banana went in, sloshed around a bit, rolled out and down her lip...and that was about it. She was much happier after we cleaned her up and gave her a bath. And I think these might be THE cutest pictures of her yet!

July 2013 {Juliette}August 1981 {Jen}My mom saved a bunch of clothes that I wore as a baby. I found a picture of me in the same shirt from almost 33 years ago! Thanks Mom!
Happy birthday to the new Prince of Cambridge...and to me! I am so excited to share a birthday with the heir to the thrown. Those that know me well, know that I LOVE the royal family. And now that we share a birthday, it's like we're related! That would make me a princess. Or a duchess. I'll take either one. Anyways, thank you to everyone for all the kind birthday wishes! This really has been the best birthday yet! I spent most of the day with Cheekie just sitting glued to the t.v. waiting for the Prince to arrive. Then we went to SW Grill for a delish dinner! I cannot imagine spending my birthday with anyone else other than these two... One of my gifts... Cheers to the new Prince...I look forward to sharing many birthdays with you.
Today was my day off from work so I got to spend it with my favorite little person! Since it has been so nastily hot outside, we went to the mall (big surprise there!). Juliette is such a good little shopping buddy! I found some really cute things for her wardrobe from H&M that were on sale (like a reallly cute track suit that was only $3!). I think I like to shop for her more than myself! Her closet is full! We spent the rest of the day relaxing in the AC at home, catching up on all my DVR'ed shows! I can't wait till my next day off! And some super cute Instagram pics from this week...
Happy five months Juliette Margot! You get cuter every day!
p.s. We did have a bow in her hair, but someone wouldn't smile until it came off! Every picture with the bow looked like this... This video says it all (watch the whole thing with the volume on). Josh and I were trying to get Juliette to laugh last night...hence why you hear us making all kinds of funny noises in the video. At the end of the video, you hear Josh. He smelled the cabbage. After five months of exclusively pumping, I decided to "pitch the pump" this week. I struggled with the decision. Breast milk is sooooo good for babies and I had devoted 4 hours a day for the past 5 months (580 hours!) to making sure Juliette got her share of the "liquid gold"...but I'd had enough. So after many hours of weighing the pros vs. cons, I decided I wanted to drink Red Bull again. I wanted to sleep 8 hours straight without waking up to hook myself up like a cow. I wanted to sleep without a bra. The time was right. Yes, I may sound selfish but trust me, the output had been declining to the point where we have been giving her a few bottles of formula a day already. So, the other night I pumped my last bottle. And the cabbage leaves went in. Google "what to do to dry up breast milk" and "apply a cabbage leaf compress" will come up just about every time. I decided to give it a try. I put the cold cabbage leaves in my bra and immediately the smell of coleslaw hit me. According to most accounts, you should leave the cabbage on the breast and change them every few hours until milk is gone. I am 36-hours in and the smell is bad. I honestly don't think I will ever look at cabbage the same. Yes, that's real cabbage in there. Hopefully, the pain will be gone in the next day or so. For the mean time, Juliette will be enjoying her bottles of formula and Mommy will be enjoying her Red Bull! The many hours spent pumping were def worth it! I would do it again in a heartbeat! I love this girl more than anything!
This has been a big week in the Jones' Household. Juliette rolled over for the first time all on her own. Not only does this signal the start of Juliette's move towards freedom, it also signals the start of more anxiety for me. The first thought I had when Josh called sent me a picture to work of my 4.5 month old laying face down in her crib was "oh no." One more thing to worry about. Is she going to be able to keep her face out of the mattress? Is she going to be able to roll back over? Of course, she managed like a champ and proved once again that children have safely been doing this for many many years. Daddy said after she rolled over she squirmed around a bit and then started to lick the sheets. We are so proud of her! Here's the picture of Juliette after she had rolled over that first time. In other big news this week, our house made it on to TLC! Our neighbors are on the reality show "My Teen is Pregnant and so am I." I noticed last December some camera crews coming and going from their house (they live directly across the street from us). I would peek out the front windows and see them randomly, but enough to make me suspicion. Finally in March, I was out getting the mail and saw the mom outside. I had to ask. What the heck was going on over there? Turns out, they were filming a reality show. She told me it was about her being pregnant at the same time as her 16-year old daughter. I didn't ask her what the name of the show was so we patiently waited to see what exactly she was referring to. Low and behold, we started watching the show when it first aired in June. I can't say I exactly like the show. I almost feel like I am spying on my neighbors. Last night, I was excited to see our house was ON THE SHOW! So excited I took about 10 pictures of the t.v. Check out our famous home... Here's a link if you want to see what our neighbors are up to..."My Teen is Pregnant and so am I." Spy away!
